Install Unifi Controller on Ubuntu

Add rules to the firewall and enable it
  • sudo ufw allow 22/tcp
  • sudo ufw allow 8080/tcp
  • sudo ufw allow 8443/tcp
  • sudo ufw allow 8880/tcp
  • sudo ufw allow 8843/tcp
  • sudo ufw allow 3478/udp
  • sudo ufw show added
  • sudo ufw enable
Install NTP client
  • sudo apt-get update
  • sudo apt-get install ntp
Install Unifi
  • echo 'deb http://www.ubnt.com/downloads/unifi/debian stable ubiquiti' | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/100-ubnt-unifi.list
  • sudo apt-key adv --keyserver hkp://keyserver.ubuntu.com:80 --recv 0C49F3730359A14518585931BC711F9BA15703C6
    
    echo "deb http://repo.mongodb.org/apt/ubuntu xenial/mongodb-org/3.4 multiverse" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mongodb-org-3.4.list
    
    sudo apt update
  • sudo wget -O /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/unifi-repo.gpg https://dl.ui.com/unifi/unifi-repo.gpg
  • sudo apt-get update
  • sudo apt install apt-transport-https
  • sudo apt-get install unifi
  • Visit https://[ip address of controller]:8443
  • To remove Unifi completely type ‘sudo apt-get purge unifi’
  • To restart the Unifi service type ‘sudo service unifi restart’
