IT Consulting

Independent advice on what to build, what to replace and what to leave alone, with no product attached to the recommendation.

Consulting is useful when the decision matters and the options all sound reasonable. Should the server be replaced or moved to the cloud. Is the quote from that vendor sensible. What does the network need to look like if the company doubles in three years.

Because no product is being sold, the answer is allowed to be that nothing needs to change yet.

Sound familiar?

  • Two vendors have quoted very different things and both sound convincing
  • A large purchase is being considered without a clear picture of what it fixes
  • Growth is planned and nobody knows what the network can carry
  • An existing system is being outgrown and the options are unclear
  • A project stalled and needs someone to work out why

How Alienstech handles it

The work is usually short and specific. It starts with the same discovery and assessment that every engagement does, because advice given without seeing the environment is guesswork.

What comes back is a written recommendation: the options, what each one costs to buy and to run, what it commits you to, and which one is suggested and why. Where a vendor quote is involved, it gets reviewed line by line, including the parts that are usually left vague.

You are free to have someone else do the implementation. The recommendation is the deliverable.

What you get

  • A clear decision with the reasoning written down
  • Quotes reviewed by someone with no stake in the sale
  • Options priced over their whole life, not just the purchase
  • A plan that accounts for where the business is heading
